Mission
Provide special care full of love for each of our children and youth.
Vision
To be a home that manifests a true love for God through the integral and permanent care of each one of the children and youth who have been entrusted to us.
History of the Marina Guirola Leal Home
Directed by the Congregation Missionaries Daughters of San Gerónimo Emiliani, whose mission is the care of orphaned and abandoned children. The headquarters of the first home was on 14 av. 1-72 zone 1 in the city of Guate-mala. Children were received during the day only, but when the government saw the Work, they requested that newborns be received from the court . Among the children received, it was not detected that they had serious problems, including: intellectual disability, psychomotor retardation, cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus, neurofibromas, developmental delay, autism, Down syndrome and microcephaly. Because of their physical condition they could not be placed in adoptive families, so they remained institutionalized.
In the first years the number of children with disabilities increased, the demands and the space were not enough, therefore in January 2002 they were transferred to the house located on Avenida Simeón reeds 4-46 zone 2, which Miss Marina Guirola Leal , I leave the congregation in inheritance. The space being insufficient, an effort was made to acquire the house conti-gua 4-30 zone 2, to provide greater comfort to children and young people and to the people who serve them.
The Hogar Marina Guirola Leal is a non-profit institution that provides love, education, health and personalized therapies to 21 residents with disabilities. The home is sustained by the donations and generosity of private individuals.
